Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter will switch parties and run for reelection in November 2010 as a Democrat, he announced today, a decision that could have wide-ranging consequences for the Senate and President Obama's agenda.

Specter told reporters that he received a "bleak" poll Friday from his advisers that showed virtually no chance of him winning in the GOP primary next spring against Pat Toomey, a former Republican House member who recently led the conservative Club for Growth.

He said that the loss of several hundred thousand GOP voters who left the party in 2008 to vote in the Democratic presidential primary left the Pennsylvania Republican Party too conservative to support a moderate such as him. "I have found myself increasingly at odds with the Republican Party," Specter said.

After more than 28 years in the Senate, Specter acknowledged he was "not prepared to have that record" obliterated by the conservative primary electorate. He reached the decision over the weekend in consultation with his family and top aides, many of whom are staying with him despite his party switch.

He said informed Republican and Democratic Senate leaders about dinnertime last night.

The move brings Democrats to 59 seats in the Senate, just one shy of the 60 they need to exert filibuster-proof control over the chamber. In Minnesota, Democrat Al Franken holds a 312-vote lead over former senator Norm Coleman (R), but Coleman has appealed the result to the state Supreme Court. Oral arguments in the case are expected to begin in June.

Nonetheless, Specter remains an independent voice on many issues, opposing a union organizing bill that is key to many labor groups and rejecting Obama's choice to run a key legal advisory section of the Justice Department. "I will not be an automatic 60th vote," he said.

Specter's announcement, coming on the eve of Obama's 100th day in office, sent shockwaves through political circles.

Specter called the White House this morning to inform Obama of his decision but the president was busy getting his daily economic briefing. When he received a note shortly afterward that Specter was switching parties, the president quickly returned the call, recalled a top adviser who was in the room at the time.

Specter said he received the president's full blessing to run in the Democratic primary largely uncontested next April. "He said he would support me, come to Pennsylvania to campaign for me," Specter said.

Vice President Biden, a long-time friend of Specter's who had counseled him about switching parties, issued a statement late this afternoon saying, "I welcome my old friend to the Democratic Party. Senator Arlen Specter is a man of remarkable courage and integrity. I know he will remain a powerful and independent voice for Pennsylvania and the country."

Republicans immediately sought to cast Specter's move as nothing more than the politics of self-preservation. "Let's be honest -- Senator Specter didn't leave the GOP based on principles of any kind," said Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele. "He left to further his personal political interests because he knew that he was going to lose a Republican primary due to his left-wing voting record."

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Specter told him last night that he was likely to make the shift, then called the Democratic leader this morning to confirm that his decision was final. Reid credited Biden for playing an important behind-the-scenes role in softening Specter's resistance. Reid also said he and Specter "have had a long dialogue about his place in an evolving Republican Party" and praised his willingness to "work in a bipartisan manner, put people over party, and do what is right for Pennsylvanians and all Americans."

Specter will receive his seniority among Democrats as if he had been elected as a Democrat in 1980, when he rode into office on the coattails of Ronald Reagan's conservative revolution. That effectively means Specter will become chairman of a key subcommittee on the Appropriations Committee, probably the one overseeing the departments of Labor and Health and Human Services. Specter also acknowledged that becoming full appropriations committee chairman -- something that could take another six to 10 years -- "is something I'd like to attain."

As the Senate was wrapping up a procedural vote on popular anti-fraud legislation yesterday evening -- a vote forced upon the chamber by a bloc of hard-line Senate conservatives -- Specter stood by the doorway at the north end of the chamber leading to Reid's office suite on the second floor of the Capitol. According to a Democratic observer, Reid and Specter left the chamber together, entering the majority leader's offices for a private huddle in which Specter confirmed the party switch.

After making the announcement today, Specter turned aside all questions from reporters as he cast a vote on the Senate floor, then joined his wife Joan and son Shanin in the Senate dining room for lunch. He then made a five-minute appearance in the weekly Republican luncheon in the Lyndon Baines Johnson Room, off the Senate floor, where his entrance was greeted with a stony silence.

Specter's political standing in Pennsylvania has become increasingly tenuous in recent years. His track record as a moderate combined with the shrinking Republican base in the Keystone State were likely to make a general election difficult, and Toomey, who came within two points of defeating Specter in the 2004 primary, is running again. Polling showed him with a double-digit edge over Specter in a GOP primary.

The move was the latest blow to an already staggering GOP. Senate Republican leaders appeared ashen at a press conference this afternoon. "Obviously, we are not happy that Senator Specter has decided to become a Democrat," said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

Flanked by GOP colleagues who stared straight ahead, McConnell said Specter visited him in his Senate office late yesterday afternoon "and told me quite candidly that he'd been informed by his pollster that it would be impossible for him to be reelected in Pennsylvania as a Republican because he could not win the primary; and he was also informed by his pollster that he could not get elected as an independent, and indicated that he had decided to become a Democrat."

Grasping for some positive spin on an otherwise catastrophic setback, McConnell warned that Specter's defection could cripple Republican efforts "to restrain the excess that is typically associated with big majorities and single-party rule." He said the pressure would shift to Democrats from conservative states to provide the checks and balances that Senate Republicans would now struggle to provide.

McConnell rejected Specter's assertion that the Republican Party had shifted so far to the right that moderate lawmakers were no longer viable candidates in swing states. "This is not a national story. This is a Pennsylvania story," McConnell said. He said Specter "came to our meeting and talked to us, indicated to me yesterday . . . and again this morning, that he didn't have any problem whatsoever with the way he'd been treated by the Republican conference here in the Senate."

Other moderate Republicans acknowledged they, too, have been approached about changing parties. Sen. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, the Maine Republicans who along with Specter provided the three pivotal votes for Obama's $787 billion stimulus legislation, both said today they have been approached. Neither would comment about how recent the overtures were, although Collins said she has been asked roughly four times during her 12 years in the Senate to consider becoming a Democrat.

"It's something I would never do," she said.

Snowe called Specter's decision "devastating news" for Republicans, particularly Northeastern Republicans who have almost vanished in the Senate during the past decade. "Many Republicans feel alienated and disaffected from the party," Snowe said. "It just helps nourish a culture of exclusion and alienation."

Snowe recalled then-Sen. James Jeffords of Vermont, who switched from being a Republican to an independent caucusing with Democrats in 2001. That was a more dramatic switch that flipped power from Republicans to Democrats in the chamber. "Frankly, the party never woke up from that event," she said.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a prominent conservative who was John McCain's staunchest supporter in his 2008 GOP presidential campaign, warned that the party has become regionalized in its mentality. "We have to find places in the party for people who couldn't win in South Carolina," he told reporters.

In his remarks to reporters, Specter flashed one brief moment of anger when asked about the role the national Republican Party played in his decision, suggesting his rematch against Toomey will be one filled with a personal vendetta.

He complained about inaction by GOP leaders in Washington when social and fiscal conservatives -- largely funded by the group Club for Growth -- challenged moderate Republicans in primaries. He cited four different races in which the Club for Growth had weighed in and helped a conservative challenger. Each of those seats -- in Maryland, Michigan, New Mexico and Rhode Island -- is now held by a Democrat.

"There ought to be a rebellion, there ought to be an uprising," he said.

Senior White House officials said the decision to switch was Specter's, and he was not lobbied heavily by members of Obama's administration.

"Everyone wanted to give him the space to work things out for himself," a top White House aide said. "We did not dispatch anyone with a basket of goodies."

The one exception was the vice president. In the 10 weeks since the president signed the stimulus bill, Biden has met with Specter face-to-face six times and talked on the phone at least eight times, advisers said.

People close to Biden said the vice president has been urging Specter to make the switch for years. But they said the conversations intensified during the past several weeks as Biden watched political developments in Pennsylvania.

"They certainly talked about the fact that both the vice president and the president would be happy to go to bat for Sen. Specter in every way possible," a top adviser to Biden said.

As Biden pressed his case, aides said he "regularly informed" Obama about the conversations, telling the president recently that he was cautiously optimistic about the prospects.

" 'I talked to Arlan,' " Biden would tell the president, one aide recalled. " 'Still working on him. Still working on him.' [Obama] was obviously aware," the aide recalled.

Specter tried to call Biden early this morning to inform him before news leaked. But aides said the two were unable to connect because Biden was in Texas for an event at the National Domestic Violence Hotline Center.

They talked later in the day.

It was not immediately clear what Specter's decision would do to the Democratic field in next year's Senate race in Pennsylvania. Joe Torsella, the former head of the National Constitution Center, was already seeking the Democratic nomination and raised roughly $600,000 for his bid in the first three months of 2009.

Toomey becomes the odds-on favorite to be the Republican nominee. Toomey held the competitive 15th district for three terms before giving up his seat to challenge Specter in the 2004 primary. He is a favorite of conservatives in the state, but it remains unclear how competitive he will be given the clear advantage Democrats now enjoy in Pennsylvania.

Assuming the court sides with Franken in Minnesota, it will mark the first time since the 95th Congress -- 1977 to 1979 -- that Democrats have controlled 60 or more Senate seats.

Texas Sen. John Cornyn, head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said in a statement that the GOP would seek to make the 2010 election a referendum on whether voters wanted Democrats to have unchecked control of Congress. "While this presents a short-term disappointment, voters next year will have a clear choice to cast their ballots for a potentially unbridled Democrat super-majority versus the system of checks-and-balances that Americans deserve," Cornyn said. Earlier this month, Cornyn wrote a letter to Pennsylvania Republicans urging them to rally around Specter, calling him the only GOP nominee who could hold the seat.

Fixing The Economy !!!!!

This is from an article in the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday.

The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"

I think this guy nailed it!

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead

of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money

on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can

call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. - Pay them

$1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following

stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered - Auto

Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing

Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress and their constituents pay their taxes....

OBAMA PLANE PHOTO OP

A jumbo jet being chased by a F-16 fighter jets buzzed Lower Manhattan this morning, panicking New Yorkers, many of whom were forced to evacuate their office buildings.
It was not a terrorist attack, however, but a photo opportunity for Air Force One, sources told the Post.

Now I ask this: How low can they go? It cost $70,000.00 an hour to operated the fighter jet and all for a photo op..while Americans are hurting.....getting laid off..losing their jobs.....and trying to put food on the table and and providing and taking care of their families!
Yes how low can they go?!

Senator's husband cashes in on crisis

On the day the new Congress convened this year, Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced legislation to route $25 billion in taxpayer money to a government agency that had just awarded her husband's real estate firm a lucrative contract to sell foreclosed properties at compensation rates higher than the industry norms.

Mrs. Feinstein's intervention on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was unusual: the California Democrat isn't a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs with jurisdiction over FDIC; and the agency is supposed to operate from money it raises from bank-paid insurance payments - not direct federal dollars.

Documents reviewed by The Washington Times show Mrs. Feinstein first offered Oct. 30 to help the FDIC secure money for its effort to stem the rise of home foreclosures. Her letter was sent just days before the agency determined that CB Richard Ellis Group (CBRE) - the commercial real estate firm that her husband Richard Blum heads as board chairman - had won the competitive bidding for a contract to sell foreclosed properties that FDIC had inherited from failed banks.

About the same time of the contract award, Mr. Blum's private investment firm reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission that it and related affiliates had purchased more than 10 million new shares in CBRE. The shares were purchased for the going price of $3.77; CBRE's stock closed Monday at $5.14.

Spokesmen for the FDIC, Mrs. Feinstein and Mr. Blum's firm told The Times that there was no connection between the legislation and the contract signed Nov. 13, and that the couple didn't even know about CBRE's business with FDIC until after it was awarded.

Senate ethics rules state that members must avoid conflicts of interest as well as "even the appearance of a conflict of interest." Some ethics analysts question whether Mrs. Feinstein ran afoul of the latter provision, creating the appearance that she was rewarding the agency that had just hired her husband's firm.

"This clearly gives the appearance of a conflict of interest," said Kent Cooper, a former federal regulator who specializes in government ethics and disclosures. "To maintain the people's trust in government, it is incumbent on a legislator to take the extra steps necessary to ensure that when she introduces any legislation that it does not cause people to question her motives or the business activities of her spouse."

Mrs. Feinstein and Mr. Blum, a wealthy investment banker, are a power couple in both Washington and California who sat behind President Obama during his inauguration in January. Mrs. Feinstein also is mentioned as a candidate for California governor.

God bless our Troops!

It's a sad day in America when our seasoned men and women come home to a rude welcome- from the VERY ONES they protect every day. It puts me in mind when this country was young and fighting for her independence from Britain. I'm sure they considered the colonists "Extremists" back then, too. But it didn't stop us from fighting and winning our independence.

And it should not stop us now. We have a rich heritage and a big legacy that we must protect, defend, and live up to.

I encourage each and every American to hold fast to the liberty granted us by our forefathers. Don't give an inch! We owe them and ourselves that much and more.

God bless America!

Left wing Media has taken sides

I was watching the news coverage on the Tea Party from the different Networks.
It is appalling that everyone I watched but Fox News trashed decent honest hard working Americans!

These people are below anything that is decent....In fact they are trashy Un-American low life's that would denigrate Americans that have given of themselves to helping make this nation the great Nation it is.

The more the left wing media spout their filth again people that love their country....that are patriotic.....and do the best that they can to instill honesty and love of country in their children........The more the American people will disown them.

So.........................................Keep it up!

Yes you heard me....................Keep it up!

The American people are not stupid!

American people will stop listening to the filth you and your Ilk spew out on a daily basis.

Wake up America

It doesn't matter what party one is affiliated with: Republican, Democrat, Independent, or Libertarian.

We as Americans want the best for our country..Our families...Our right to remain free and have liberty and justice.

Now is the time to come together as a people and stop the insane spending and taxation that is destroying all that is great about our country.

So now Average Americans are Extremist?

Now average Americans just like me who are true Conservatives are being called radical right wing extremist.

What happened to the liberty and freedom to speak out?

By Dan

  1. If you disagree with the current administration you will be labeled as a right wing extremist. People in this country MUST read the Department of Homeland Security report which is posted as an unclassified document. This is a picture of what this administration thinks of those who do not fall in lockstep with what the administration thinks of as meaningful change. Wake up America. Napolitano should resign… Obama should resend this report and apologies should be made. Can you imagine what would have happened had Bush released such a report targeting American citizens? Scary.

It is so frustrating to me that people are still taking sides on this issue. Last time I checked it doesnt matter to Uncle Sam whether you are Republican or Democrate we still all pay taxes. Our government is like a two year old child. They keep trying to see how far they can push us and test us before we give them a swat on the behind and let them know we rule the roost and we will guide them in the right direction. Well the American people are fed up it doesnt matter which end of the spectrum you fall on this is our money, our country and our future as people of a still free country. I encourage everyone to attend a tea party in your area tomorrow. Its time to take our country back from the politicians who are try to sell us and our country out.

Physically ill from the Anderson 360 report I just saw with that stupid Peter Bergen. I worked for Homeland Security, on a local district level (coalition of counties) for 3 years and had a small amount of respect for this guy. I think the fact that he’s British and these are tea parties are just too much for him. He and Anderson had the most incredible paranoid story supporting story on us right wing conservative homegrown terrorist. If anyone has read that piece of crap report, which I did for a living for 3 years , they know what a partisan unfounded pack of lies it is. However, I can deal with being attacked for my views. I am, after all, a farm girl who rescues stray cats and volunteers to feed the hungry, so I totally understand I am a perfect example of a “lone wolf operative”, but for goodness sake, attacking returning veterans as possible mindless recruits for some kind of mass right wing anarchist movement? Have they no shame? I am trembling angry and SO at the Mt. Juliet tea party tomorrow. My sign will read “Mr. Obama’s tax plan “REVOLTS” me”.

Our Leaders Betray Us - Immigration and Jobs

Let us begin by stating a first principle.
As something becomes more available, it becomes cheaper, and vice versa. This is the law of supply and demand. It is a fundamental, irrefutable law of economics, so well-proven that it needs no discussion. What must be pointed out here, though, is that sweat is a quantity covered by the law of supply and demand. As sweat becomes more available, it becomes cheaper.

One purpose of immigration laws is to regulate the amount of sweat in the country, that is, the size of the labor pool. Immigration adds workers to the labor pool; that diminishes the value of all labor, because as supply goes up, price (that is, wages) goes down - there's more of it, so it's cheaper. Immigrants, legal or illegal, don't depress wages because they are Latino or Filipino or African and want to work cheap. It happens because, in their millions, they form a pool of additional sweat that becomes cheap because of its sheer volume. This seems to be such a simple connection that Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, and all our politicians should be able to understand it.

It seems they do not, though - or perhaps they do, and just don't care. Or maybe they are responding to their vision of a higher calling than the good of the American public. Whatever their motives, though, make no mistake: when they call for "bringing workers out of the shadows," they are not talking about helping the legal workers of America, and when they say we should have "Immigration Reform" they are proposing laws that will benefit foreigners, not our own workers. For their own, political reasons, they are willing to damage individual Americans to benefit foreigners.

In justification of their calls for liberal immigration laws, they say that Americans won't do "that kind of work," whatever kind that is. What a contemptible statement! What an expression of disdain for their fellow Americans. Any politician who believes that of his constituents has a very poor opinion of them - but then, he knows them best; maybe they are lazy sluggards. He should not dare to speak for other Americans, though, who have done every job in this country, and do them still. They do them despite wages held down by the actions and inactions of the very people making those scandalous statements - our elected representatives

Now, we are in a crisis. Good, working Americans who have played by the rules are losing their homes as they lose their jobs. They cannot buy shoes for the kids, much less pay next semester's tuition. They will work. Millions of them will take any job that will keep a roof over their heads and food on the table and clothes on their family. But the jobs have to be there.

A tragic aspect of this failure of national will is that the very people who most need low-end jobs, our own undereducated, under skilled workers, are the ones most often displaced by illegal aliens. The American Dream is being moved farther and farther from their reach by the presence of foreign workers who take jobs our own people ought to have and depress the wages that are paid.

President Obama claims repeatedly that he will create new millions of jobs, that he will fix the problem with public works and stimulus packages that will pay for "shovel-ready" projects that will put people to work. He, and his cheerleaders in Congress, ignore the more obvious solution in favor one that requires spending on an unimaginable scale. Millions of jobs are still out there, but they are filled by illegal aliens who ought not to have them at all, much less at the expense of an American worker. We note with amazement that, apparently, there will be no extra effort made when those Obama-generated stimulus jobs are filled to screen out illegal aliens.

What the Administration and Congress should do is this: vigorously enforce existing immigration laws, and pass new ones that make it inconvenient to impossible for illegal aliens to stay here. The Secretary of Homeland Security

, Janet Napolitano, is impeding interior enforcement of our immigration laws; in fact, she has nearly brought it to a complete halt. As a matter of official policy, she is deliberately protecting illegal aliens with jobs from detection and removal. She should stop that immediately and begin carrying out at least one aspect of her duty, that is, to protect the American people's jobs from illegal foreign competition.

An editorial does not offer the space to set forth the volumes of evidence that exist showing that illegal aliens have created a labor surplus that depresses wages, and that Americans will take jobs vacated when illegal aliens leave. Here, we offer only one recent example. In the spring of 2008 ICE conducted a series of enforcement operations at Swift meatpacking plants in several locations across the country. ICE arrested hundreds of illegal aliens, and caused hundreds more to leave. In every case, the jobs opened were filled within days by legal workers, and in nearly every case, at wages higher than were being paid before. Slaughterhouse work is among the jobs that, supposedly, American workers won't do. We can see that they will.

For further discussion and evidence of this proposition, visit the website of the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers at http://www.nafbpo.org/ and click the button American Jobs for American Workers. There, we offer evidence and the outline of a solution to this problem.

In closing, we call for the administration and Congress to live up to their duty to see that American workers are protected, not sacrificed to foreign interests, and that the laws be faithfully executed. So far, they have failed miserably. We hope they can change. If they do not, we will surely change them.

Today...not Tomorrow

The time for waiting and hoping that things will get better is past. Every day that we allow evil to reign in this country is another day that we move closer to losing all that we hold dear in America.

The ball is in our court. No one is going to make the jump shot for us. We must do it. Certainly Washington isn't going to. They are interested in only one thing: themselves. And when our representatives put their interests above ours, it is time for a change. We the people still have a say in the operation of this great nation and we need to let our voices be heard.

Over 200 years ago, when the powers that were decided we could not rule ourselves, our founding fathers stood in protest. They sacrificed so much to stand for freedom in a time when so much was against them. And they prevailed. Are we going to throw away all that they worked for, make it of none effect?

Or are we going to stand and say: "Enough is enough. God built us, guided us, and has sustained us. We will not let you or anyone destroy the godly foundation that has been laid. We will not let you turn this country from the land of the free to the land of the slaved. "?

We have a mission: the folks at the Capital care little for what we hold close to our hearts. We will have to do the protecting. And that means that they need to know we are not backing down. We will see this through. With God's help, we will prevail and be a stronger and better nation because of it. God bless America.

Are you gearing up?

Just one week from today...April 15th...there will be many tea parties taking place throughout our great nation!
I think this is an exciting endeavor on the part of conservatives.
I have heard different people speak about how we should conduct ourselves at that time, should we choose to attend one of these parties.
We should be well-behaved, organized, focused, and definitely patriotic!
There is so much at stake; I think we must grab EVERY opportunity!

So...gear up...and may God bless America in a special way!!

Real Clear Politics Video

Everyone needs to listen to the hypocrisy of this idiot.,,,all Barney Frank does is to label and blame others for what he has helped create.

This coming from Real Clear Politics:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2009/04/07/harvard_student_takes_on_barney_frank_over_economy.html

WFXT-TV: It all started with a question: "How much responsibility, if any, do you have for the financial crisis?"

Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) and a conservative Harvard law student debated over how Frank should have handled his role as the House Chairman of the Financial Services Committee. Frank was at Harvard University for a speech at the Kennedy School of Government.

Frank said the student wasn't backing up his claims, invoking some laughter from the crowd, and the student told Frank he wasn't answering his question.

Politics, corruption

Corrupt And Spineless Politicians

Corruption and spinelessness have been entrenched in politics back as far as the eye can see, and to document the sheer historical absurdity would consume volumes. Let’s focus on recent machinations, and that should give you a good idea of how it has always been in one form or another.

Barack Obama has signed the pork laden omnibus spending bill that included 9000 earmarks, junk attachments worth billions that benefit individual lawmakers and their cronies. Both Republicans and Democrats have their hand in the till on this one, so the protests over the waste of taxpayer dollars never rose above a murmur. Obama was the man who promised to crack down on this type of wasteful spending, but when it came time to put this money where his mouth is, he folded like a wet noodle. “Next time” he promises. Yes, another promise from a politician.

Speaking of folding like a wet noodle, in a shameful display of subservience, when the U.N. Secretary general called the U.S. deadbeats for not paying U.N. dues on time, congressman and senators alike were slobbering all over themselves apologizing for essentially nothing. The U.S. kicks in 22% of the budget for the U.N., just so they can tell us how to run our lives. How’s that for spine? Where are our elected leaders, the defenders of the Constitution, the representatives of the people? You tell me. Maybe they’re preparing the next pound of pork they intend on stuffing into the next spending bill.

That may very well be what they’re doing. Politicians have no problem spending your money. Case in point, the recent TARP bailout, designed to prop up failing lending institutions. By all accounts it has been a dismal failure, as the initial amount wasn’t nearly enough, and the failed behemoths are clamoring for more of your money. It looks like Washington is ready to hand it over too. Hillary Clinton was in China recently and down on knees begging for more money to throw down a sinkhole, using the American taxpayer as collateral. Every American should have been embarrassed that she put the issue of human rights on the back burner when she got there, despite her promises to the contrary. When she came face to face with Chinese leaders she, like Obama, folded like a wet noodle.

Politicians fold though, and they fold often. Pandering for votes is almost a comical example of how spineless a vote-getter can be. Take for example the immigration issue. American politicians have a tendency to slap Latino voters across the face, assuming they think as a mob and do not want the border secured-for one reason or another. Promises of “amnesty”, and “paths to citizenship” abound every election cycle, not because of any benevolent feelings for illegal immigrants, but because they are fishing for votes. Even in the face of a drug war in Mexico that the U.S. government revealed makes that country one of top national security threats, the wimpy politicians still cower to the illegal alien lobby, looking for votes and afraid to confront at the same time. If there is any shame there, you can’t see it.

As I said, this would consume volumes. This is just a small taste of what has happened lately. Imagine the entire history of a country…

There is hope yet

The youngest one looked up at her momma and said: Momma I want that easy bake oven. Her momma ignored her for a few minutes and so the little girl repeated it again.
The momma look abit on the harried side as she was holding the hand of her other child. She said: No Lisa that toy cost a way too much!
The child still not to be deterred demanded the toy.
Instead of her momma getting angry with he child...calmly said to her: Lisa we can't afford it right now.
She then picked the child up into her arms and hugged her and then said this: Remember what we have learned in Sunday school?
Little Lisa nodded her head a few tears trickling down her cheeks yes..Momma: Trust and believe and god will help us.

When I see how the momma was trying to instill faith in her little children.I thought to myself:

Yes there is hope yet for America

All You Need To Know About Conservatism Happened Prior to 1823

http://www.mikechurch.com/joomla/daily-tao-of-dude-transcripts/what-defines-real-conservatism.html

Mike: The judge of all things conservative out there is upset with me because I called Obama a Maoist. Once again, just like I cost John McCain the election. Remember that? All these right-wing wackos, I mean, “You cost John McCain the election because you’re not supporting him.” I didn’t cost John McCain the election.

I’m not the one that told him to be an amnesty supporter. I’m not the one that told him to violate the Constitution and to pass McCain-Feingold. I didn’t put any of those words in his mouth. I’m not the one that told him to propose that the government buy everybody’s mortgages so that the mortgage market can stabilize. I didn’t do any of those things. McCain did all that on his own. All I did was point it out. And I will tell you something. Now, you listen to me. When someone is acting with the impunity towards the states, towards the American public, and towards the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation and the Bill of Rights, the way that Barack Obama is, he, in my estimation, Mr. Wrangler pant-wearer, is a Maoist, sir. And I’ll take nothing back. As a matter of fact, I might even say it again. Just did.

I get a kick out of this, that some of you people want to imply that somehow we’re going to have or we’re going to gain a victory over these tyrannical despot tin-horn dictator wannabes that have no regard for human life. Now, here’s a guy that votes against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. And I’m supposed to call him a Boy Scout. I’m supposed to revere and to honor him. “But Mike, he’s the President of the United States of America. And you have to....” No, I don’t. He disrespects the office every day, acting as though going on sitcom television shows and having town hall meetings with a bunch of brain-dead zombies flown in from wherever, that that somehow equates leadership. Mocking and making fun of Special Olympics kids in a deadpan joke that fell on leaden ears. What has he done to respect his office, Mr. It’s My Fault and You Give the Conservative Movement a Bad – let me give you another clue here. Let me give you another hint here, whoever it was that’s upset with me. And I think this needs to be addressed because I have received emails on this, as well.

Let me give you another clue here about this. You people that define conservatism as what the modern-day conservatives, the neocons, define it as, you’re the ones that have a problem, and you’re the ones that caused this. And you’re the ones that are doing nothing to abate it. And you’re the ones that stand in the way of a path back to where we supposedly want to get to. Conservatism does not draw its thought process from what happened in 1994. It doesn’t draw its thought process from what happened with Barry Goldwater in 1962, or from Ronald Reagan’s speech in 1964. It draws its thought process, its foundation, and its principles from what happened in 1776. And before that from what happened in 1758. And then after that from what happened at George Washington’s home when the Fairfax Resolves were passed in 1775. Ever heard of ‘em? And before – and then after that, shortly after that, from Mr. Jefferson going back to Monticello and penning this thing called “A Summary View of the Rights of British America.” This is the foundation. This is the core. And it hasn’t changed. And you shouldn’t want it to change.

Hope

During these "dark" days, there doesn't seem to be a lot in the world to encourage us. I was driving to work yesterday, listening to Patriot News on Sirius Radio.
Nothing good to report...things are going downhill.
For a while, I was pretty discouraged. All of a sudden a scripture came to me, "Hope thou in God."
What a "bright" thought!! God is a God of hope! He is unchanging, He is all powerful, and He is still in control!!
That same thought followed me all the way to work, and I realized that I needed to change my way of thinking.
Stop trusting in men and commit the future to God!
Sure, I must be concerned, I must pray, I must tell others to press on for the cause of right. But no one can take God away from me...He will always be my rock!!!
